A small deciduous tree, to around 4m in 10 years, with a narrow, columnar habit and oval-shaped, deep green leaves. Large, creamy white flowers are produced in late spring, followed by strawberry-like fruits that ripen to pinkish-red. Leaves turn deep red in autumn.
Site & Soil: Plant in humus-rich, neutral to acid soil in full sun or light shade. Leaves may scorch in late summer if grown in full sun in warm or hot climates.
Hardiness: Hardy throughout the UK and northern Europe. Many plants grown in containers will be damaged unless given protection.
Eventual Height & Spread: 2.5-4m x 0.5-1m.
