Cupressus are vigorous, evergreen trees with flaking or scaly bark. Habits are generally columnar. Foliage is small, often aromatic, scale-like leaves. ‘Totem’ is particularly slender and upright, hence its name, and has dense, dark green foliage. Its impressive shape and habit lend ‘Totem’ well to planting along driveways or avenues. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil in a sheltered location.

Hardiness: Hardy throughout most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites. Potted plants at an increased risk of damage without protection.
