Malus are small to medium-sized deciduous trees with showy flowers in spring and ornamental or edible fruit in autumn. A robust tree, ‘Jonagold’ produces regular, heavy crops of red flushed, large green fruits. The crisp, honey flavour makes it ideal for eating straight off the tree or used for culinary purposes. Plant in full sun to partial shade in wee-drained, moist soil.
