Prunus can be deciduous or evergreen trees or shrubs with showy flowers in spring, and often good autumn foliage colour. Some have edible fruit in autumn, and a few species have ornamental bark. ‘Czar’ is a spreading plum tree that produces beautiful purple or blue fruits that can be used for culinary purposes. It is self-fertile, compact and reliable. Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun.
